In this talk, we review the recent research trends related to payment channels with a focus on the lightning network, HTLC and improvements. It was delivered by Dr. Yunwen Liu, as an episode of the Cryptape Vanguard 2020-2022 Blockchain Research Panorama Series.

Yunwen Liu is a cryptographer at Cryptape Vanguard. She completed her Ph.D at COSIC, KU Leuven. She published 20+ research papers in venues including Eurocrypt and Journal of Cryptology. She has served on the program committees of Eurocrypt 2022 and ToSC 2022/2023.
